I am a weaver and a spinner living in Løgumkloster, a small town north of the German/ Danish boarder. I take inspiration from my surroundings in the calm and still nature. Close to where I live there is a river and a forest, all around Denmark there are shores of open seascapes. After living in Copenhagen for five years, I love the contrast and pace of life over here in Sønderjylland. Here,I am close to nature. From my window I watch the morning fog slowly evapourate from the shinning sun, hares run on the grass with the church as the backdrop and then the arrival of the calm evening mist, thick layers of sea fog travelling in again, like a gentle peace blanket on the whole town.

Being close to these seasonal and daily rythms gives me great visual nourishment that is reflected in my work. As I use my hands to twist, blend, wrap, weave and stitch-each thread, yarn or fabric teaches me something new about the way it behaves.

Stiff strong shinning flax spinning into linen thread, grown in Denmark, the silk of the north.Gentle delicate gold like silk, glistenes and adds brilliance. Soft gentle alpaca or coarse textured curly Gotland and greasy long wirey Spelsau wool. All fibers are fascinating to me.I try to capture them forever, holding onto them, like holding onto time, spinning and weaving these fiber threads together, into stories or diaries for others to read.
